“For those who want to work for themselves, not by themselves.”
If you’ve been following my freelance journey for the past year and a half then you will probably be pretty familar with just some of the struggles I’ve faced so far. Mainly adapting to working from home and attempting to combat the feelings of isolation and loneliness that come with being a one-woman band. One of the solutions I’ve found is getting out in the real world (can you believe it?!) and meeting other creatives and freelancers who are in a similar boat.
Since this revelation a couple of months ago I’ve been organising fairly regular co-working meet-ups in Nottingham with a group of friends but I’m now at the stage where I want to open up the invitiation and begin to expand this community.
And that’s where The Co-Working Club comes in. A weekly meet-up for creatives, freelancers and remote workers based in Nottingham looking to get out of the house and get productive amongst a group of likeminded individuals.
Going along to events and meet-ups has been game changing in the way I view my working week as a freelancer and so building a supportive community which other people can find comfort in is something I’ve dreamt of creating for a long time.
I’m hoping that this is just the beginning for The Co-Working Club. Supporting fellow freelancers has become a huge passion of mine and I want to create a solution for those who like me, struggle with the isolation that comes with working from home. I’m hoping to expand the community well beyond local meet-ups and create a newsletter packed full of useful informtion and inspiring content alongside a podcast which sees me chatting to fellow freelancers about how they adapted to the solopreneur lifestyle.
If you’re interested in finding out more about The Co-Working Club the best place to keep up to date will be over on my Instagram account and if you have any questions at all please do feel free to drop me an email or a message.
Come and join the club, we’d be lucky to have you!
