A Trip to Paris (Part One)

So this post has been a long time coming now but a couple of weeks ago I went on my first ever trip to Paris! I always like to go away around the time of my birthday for a little treat and this year when we stumbled across some super cheap flights to Paris so we decided to go for it! We then booked to stay in a lovely Air Bnb apartment in the area of Montmartre.

I’ve decided to split this up into two separate posts as I took quite the amount of photos and I can’t seem to pick out my favorites! So, we arrived on Monday evening, dumped our bags at the apartment and set off to have a little explore around Montmarte. We pretty much headed straight for the Sacre Coeur to take in the amazing views over the city. It was an amazing start to our trip.

We then headed for some food and I had the most expensive coke of my life at almost ten euros, the night was then topped of with some yummy ice cream!

Tuesday was our first full day of exploring and boy did we do that, I felt like my legs were going to fall off by the end of the day! We set off and jumped on the metro to the Champs-Elysees, we then took a slow stroll up towards the Arc de Triomphe taking in all of the shopping sights.

We then climbed the hundreds of stairs up to the Arc de Triomphe and caught our first proper glimpse of the Eifel Tower. The views were amazing!

Next we headed over to the Eifel Tower and of course had to take lots and lots of photos! We decided that we would leave the journey to the top until Thursday as something to look forward to to round off the trip nicely!

Next on our sightseeing adventure we journeyed down to The Louvre and then across to the Pont des Arts bridge to catch a glimpse of the last of the love locks. Sadly we couldn’t find any more room to add our own and even more sadly my camera had run out of battery by this point due to our super busy day so unfortunately I don’t have any photos. By this point we were getting extremely hungry so we went to search for a restaurant in the Marais area, we also passed the Notre Dame on the way so that was another sight ticked off the list!

Wednesday was an exciting day as we were off to Disneyland! I haven’t been in years so I couldn’t wait to try out some of the new rides. Our favourites of the day were definitely Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster, Crush’s Coaster and The  Tower of Terror.

The day ended on a slight low as I actually had my phone stolen which was sad and very unexpected when you’re in Disneyland, it also meant that I lost quite a lot of the photos from the trip but I tried not to let it ruin the rest of our time in Paris.

And that was half of our trip done! Stay tuned for the next half of the post which features a delicious brunch and even more city exploring!
