So podcasts are something that I talk about a LOT around these parts, there have been multiple posts over the past couple of years talking about my most loved ones but today I thought I’d focus specifically on my favourite easy-listening, chatty podcasts which is something that I haven’t done before.
With me taking the huge leap into self-employment in December and now working from home on a daily basis I’m finding that I miss the hustle and bustle of an office environment. One way I’ve found that helps with this is making sure I have a steady stream of podcasts playing throughout the day and more recently I’ve been thinking about investing in a wireless speaker like the Panasonic Speaker System to make my experience that little bit more immersive. Offering powerful, beautiful sound quality with a super sleek design they would make the perfect addition to my office and my new working from home routine.
Now let’s dive in and check out some of my go-to easy listening, chatty podcasts that I love to listen to day-to-day.
Grazia Life Advice
A fairly new addition to my podcast library but one that follows the interview style that I love, Grazia Life Advice focuses on speaking to some of the most interesting business women and asking them to share the six best pieces of advice that they swear by. Having this structure helps to guide the conversation and inspires interesting stories about how the guests have got to where they are now. We’re currently only five episodes deep into the series so now is the perfect time to do a little bit of binging and get caught up!
Favourite episode: Alice Liveing
The Fringe of it
Hosted by the amazing Liv Purvis and Charlotte Jacklin, The Fringe of it really does feel like the ultimate catch up and natter with one of your besties. Touching on topics such as friendships, careers and social media it’s the perfect listen for any twenty or thirty somethings. I love the features that kick start each episode including telly talk and a round-up of what both of the hosts have been buying that week. Maybe one to skip if you’re trying to be good and save your pennies as these girls are serious enablers!
Favourite episode: Discussing Instagram Life vs Real Life
If you’re looking for super interesting interviews with some incredible guests then Happy Place, hosted by Fearne Cotton is without a doubt the podcast for you! With everyone from Stephen Fry to Kirsty Young to Gok Wan, Fearne discusses life, love, loss, and everything in-between as she aims to get to the bottom of what happiness really means to each guest. With that in mind there are obviously a lot of difficult topics that crop up from time to time but overall it is a very uplifting listen as we get to hear about how to overcome these lows and arise from them with positivity.
Favourite episode: Dawn French
At Home With…
Are you a bit nosy and love looking around other peoples homes? Then At Home With… is going to be right up your street! Hosted by two of my favourite content creators, Anna Newton and Lily Pebbles, the podcast provides the opportunity to go behind the scenes within the homes of some of the most inspiring women on the internet. Your home can say a lot about you so it’s a really great way to get to know some of the guests in more depth and from a really interesting angle. After a year long break in between series, At Home With…will be back for series two next week which I can’t wait for, I’m very excited to find out who will be appearing as guests this time around as they set the bar pretty high last year!
Favourite Episode: Kate Johnson – Blogger, Kate La Vie
The High Low
I couldn’t possibly do a round up of my most loved chatty podcasts without mentioning The High Low now could I, although I can’t imagine that by now that there are many people who haven’t heard about it! Hosted by two of my absolute favourites, Dolly Alderton and Pandora Sykes, The High Low is a pop-culture/news podcast that delivers the weeks biggest topical news along with a slice of humour and a touch of class. Always one to put a smile on my face or educate me on some of the most pressing current affairs it’s one that I never ever miss and is guaranteed to brighten up my day.
