Who else got a little too over excited thinking that Spring was on the way? Guilty! My ASOS saved items is crammed full of strappy tops and cute summer dresses that I was so ready to add to my basket and then BAM along came a tonne of snow to quite literally rain on our parades!
Despite the less than ideal weather I still can’t help but dream of sunnier days, not having to be bundled up in a million layers to even leave the house. Last year I spoke about being more considered with my clothing choices and attempting to create more of a capsule wardrobe. With that in mind I’m starting to plan my Spring/Summer pieces in advance so I can get a head start on exactly how I want it to look. Come and take a look at some of the things that have caught my eye so far!
Everyone loves a summer dress don’t they? So easy to simply throw on and go, they’re one of my absolute favourite things to wear on warm Spring/Summer days. Easy to layer up if the UK weather isn’t playing ball with a denim jacket or shirt and dress down with a pair of trainers for chilled days out at the park.
Denim is a staple at all times of the year but with Spring on the horizon I do find myself moving more towards blue tones as opposed to my usual black skinny jeans. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect Mom style jeans for a good while now as I think they’ll be the perfect denim update for Spring but I haven’t really found any that flatter my figure (short girl problems) so I guess the search continues! Please do let me know if you have any recommendations!
And what’s better to team with your new found blue denim pieces than a super cute blouse? Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking right? But they’re a classic for a reason! Wrap blouses are my absolute favourite style of top at the moment as they’re so flattering so I’ll definitely be looking to add some new ones to my collection this season.
Again, jumpsuits are one of my absolute favourite pieces, whether it’s Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter! Can you sense a theme here? I like to be able to throw on one item instead of having to think about pairing, basically I’m lazy…Not only are jumpsuits super easy to wear and have that totally effortless vibe about them but they are also one of the comfiest things in the world! And that’s a BIG win in my book!
Adding accessories can really help to pull an outfit together and does anything scream Spring/Summer more than a basket bag and and espadrilles?! I can’t wait to be able to swap out my clumpy boots for sandals and my bobble hats for trilby’s. Now come on sun, make an appearance so I can justify adding those super cute cat eye sunglasses to my basket!
