Delicious Desserts at Griddle & Shake, Nottingham

Griddle & Shake
Griddle & Shake has been somewhere that’s intrigued me ever since I saw it pop up late last year, being a BIG Five Guys fan I was excited to see how the competition matched up. We were invited down to try out the new dessert menu but obviously couldn’t pass up testing out a burger or two either…

Situated on Fletcher Gate, Griddle and Shake is a spacious building, stylishly decorated to feel like a much more upmarket fast food option. With it’s industrial furniture, colourful wall graphics and fun lighting it’s the perfect place to drop by if you find yourself in town at lunch or dinner time. Whilst we perused the menu I chose to grab a pink lemonade which was deliciously refreshing! I really wanted to try out one of the milkshakes but I’m not the biggest fan of combining them alongside food so I’ll have to make sure to pop in next time I’m in town.

Griddle & Shake Burgers

I’m a real lover of a pretty plain burger so I decided to go for the single beef burger in a brioche bun with american cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles. Adam is probably a little bit more adventurous than me when it comes to toppings so he decided to go for the double beef burger in a seeded bun with halloumi, lettuce and pickles. Both burgers were really tasty and the selection of delicious sauces that are on each table were a real positive too. We both opted for skin on fries on the side, in hindsight we should probably have given something else from the menu a try but what can I say, we’re creatures of habit! Also as an FIY, we probably could have shared a portion of chips as the dishes were seriously packed out, so much so that I barely even made a dent in mine.

One of the members of staff actually came to chat with us after we’d tucked in to our mains and told us that the pretzel burger bun is his favourite and the one to try but oh-well, that’s an inside tip for next time!

Griddle & Shake Desserts

Both feeling absolutely full to bursting we wondered whether we’d actually be able to fit in any dessert but after perusing the menu we knew we couldn’t possibly pass them up! With a whole host of waffles, brownies and ice cream on offer we wanted to experience as much as possible so I chose to go for the Belgian waffle with honeycomb ice cream and salted caramel sauce and Adam plumped for the raspberry and white chocolate blondie with vanilla ice cream. I’m not usually the biggest waffle fan, usually opting instead for pancakes wherever possible but this was a real game changer for me, so soft and chewy and the ice cream topped it off perfectly. I obviously had to try Adam’s dessert as well to compare and the blondie was delicious too, it’s pretty safe to say we both had clean plates!

A big thank you to Griddle & Shake for inviting us down, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and the dessert menu in particular really impressed me. I’ll definitely be popping back again whenever I’m in the area and in need of a quick and easy meal.

We were invited to receive a complimentary meal from Griddle & Shake but all opinions are mine and my tummy’s.
