The arrival of summer often means a more simplified beauty routine, I mean who wants to be piling on the products when the temperature outside is rising? This usually means that less is more so you want the products you do choose to really do their job! I’ve been trying out a couple of new products recently which have been perfect for summer so I thought I’d share the things I’ve been loving.
Skinny Tan 7 Day Gradual Tanner
I’ve spoken about Skinny Tan in a previous post after I completely fell in love with their Express Tanning Mousse so I was beyond excited to try out another product in their range. The Rose Gold 7-Day Tanner is a limited edition product so you’ll have to move quick to get your hands on it and £2 of the proceeds actually go towards Marie Curie which is obviously an amazing cause. The formula is a gorgeous bronze cream which at first I found quite difficult to apply and work into the skin although the colour guide definitely made it easier to spot areas that you might have missed. I was super sceptical about how even it was going to come out but I needn’t have feared as the colour turned out flawless and I was left with an amazing glow!
The only downside would be that I’m not sure the colour quite lived up to the 7 day promise although I probably could have made better use of the After Glow Gloss which I also received alongside the tan. When it came time to exfoliate and scrub off the remaining colour I absolutely loved using the Pre-Tan Primer, it smelled divine and left my whole body feeling silky soft and ready to start the whole tanning process all over again!
L’oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation
I’ve been looking for a lighter foundation for a while now and been weighing up a range of high end options but hadn’t quite decided which one was quite right for me. After hearing a lot of good things about the L’oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation I picked it up on a bit of a whim whilst in the airport before heading off to Mykonos. I’ve really enjoyed the lighter, dewier finish making it perfect for those hotter days when a full coverage option isn’t so needed (or wanted).
Mark Hill Taming Anti-Humidity
I actually received this in a complimentary box gifted by Boots after requesting a replacement on a faulty product, good customer service or what! This isn’t something I would have necessarily picked up in the shop or even really looked at but I’ve been really enjoying using it! Humidity usually plays havoc on my hair throughout the summer months and often there’s absolutely no point straightening it as its full of kinks ten minutes after stepping out of the house so this product is perfect. It aims to tame those annoying fly-aways whilst adding shine which makes it a great final step in your hair styling routine.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector
I’ve been really wanting to try out more Becca products ever since giving Champagne Pop a go last year so when I spotted this mini size of the Shimmering Skin Perfector in Sephora in Mykonos I thought it was the perfect time to pick it up! It’s a sheer, creme-liquid that blends effortlessly into skin and adds a real natural glow. I’ve tried using it mixed in with my foundation and applying all over the face but found that I much prefer to just use it to highlight certain areas of my face. I’ll definitely be looking to give some other Becca products a go this summer as I’ve been loving this!
