Good Morning and a very happy Monday to you! This is my first highlights from the week post of 2017 and I’m really excited and motivated to get more regular content up on the blog (you can tell by the fact that this is live at 7am on a Monday morning as opposed to 7pm in the evening like usual…) I hope you all had a positive first week back at work and the early mornings weren’t too painful although I know this five day week is going to be a struggle!
Anyway here are some of my highlights from the first week of the year…
Getting organised for 2017
This week I’ve really taken the opportunity to try and get myself organised and have been making the most of my brand new diary. Does anyone else get ridiculously excited about starting the year off a fresh with new stationary? I’m really trying to plan my blog content ahead of time instead of panicking last minute that I have nothing to post. Ideally I want to be publishing three posts a week, my usual round up post on Mondays, a more lifestyle based post on Wednesday’s and a fashion post on Fridays. Let me know what you think of my potential new schedule, I’d love to hear what you think!
The mornings have definitely turned more crisp over the Christmas break and now I’m greeted with frosty windows and icy streams when I step out of the house. Very pretty but extremely chilly, the gloves and scarf are now a necessity!
Celebrating hump day with fancy cocktails
After work on Wednesday we headed straight out for some drinks to celebrate a pals birthday. We went to Hockley Arts Club which is a favourite and one you should definitely visit if you ever find yourself in Nottingham. It was a good way to celebrate reaching the half way point of the first working week of the year.
Discovering a new brunch spot
Saturday morning is brunch time and this weekend we headed to try somewhere new that I’d discovered via Instagram (how I find all the coolest places). As it’s January I did contemplate being good and ordering the granola but with French toast on the menu I just couldn’t resist! Teamed with an iced coffee it was the perfect way to kick off the weekend.
Booking a holiday
It’s been hard to avoid all of the January flight sales and on Thursday I spent the evening having a look what was on offer. Somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit is Mykonos so when I discovered some super cheap flights I just couldn’t help but get excited and we ended up booking them there and then! I’m so excited to get planning and hunt around for some accommodation!
