This month’s favourites aren’t particularly extensive but I feel like September has flown by right in front of me and I was actually away on holiday for half of it.
As I was away relaxing in the sun I managed to get quite a bit of reading done, without a doubt the best book I read was Before I Go to Sleep. The story centres on Christine, a woman who looses her memory every time she goes to sleep. I don’t want to give anything away as I highly recommend that you give it a read but it really is one of those books that you can’t put down! It is quite fast paced once it gets going and I ended up finishing it in just two days as I was totally hooked! It’s a slight change from the usual trashy romantic reads I’m used to so I’m definitely going to be more open to different genres from now on. It’s also been made into a film which is out now so I definitely want to go and see it to see how it compares to the book!
I finally got around to picking up a Tanya Burr product this month, I decided to try out one of the lipglosses in Chic which is a very natural pink shade. I have really been enjoying using it as it just adds that little bit of colour to your lips and isn’t as high maintenance as wearing lipstick. My absolute favourite thing about it though is the smell! It smells amazing, exactly like strawberry laces!
I picked up this Bourjois Java Rice Powder before I went away on holiday as I have been meaning to try it out for a while now and I thought it would be the perfect time to test it out. I have been using it as a highlight and have found that it brightens and illuminates skin pretty well. It also leaves your skin feeling ridiculously silky soft!
This Body Shop All-in-One BB Cream proved to be extremely useful whilst I was on holiday and not looking to use my normal full coverage foundation. It is a colour adapting cream that I think actually works quite well, it applies as a white liquid but smooths in to compliment your skin tone. The coverage is quite sheer though so I don’t think it will be getting too much use now I’m back home but it definitely served a purpose whilst I was away.
I’ve always enjoyed a good iced tea but whilst on holiday an obsession occurred! We went through several large bottles of the stuff and I couldn’t help but order one with almost every meal! My favourite has always been the peach flavour but I seem to have developed quite a liking for the lemon variety also!
This month I also decided to make a little video to go alongside this post as I was feeling particularly creative. I’d love it if you gave it a watch and also subscribed to my YouTube channel!
