Homeware: Antique Discoveries

Last Sunday afternoon was spent partaking in one of my favourite past time – antique shopping. We decided to take a trip to Bygone Times, an antiques and collectables centre in Chorley.

The first thing I found was this fold out ruler, I really like the worn colour and texture it has to it and I can envisage it looking reallyย cool placed on a shelf with some of my other trinket-y items.

I have quite an obsession with tin tableware at the moment so when I spotted this bowl I just had to pick it up – despite the fact that I already have two.ย I like the fact that it’s not in perfect condition and has some marks and scratches on it – kind weird for something your going to eat out of but oh well! I’m now on the look out for some of the tin cups to add to my collection!

One thing I was on the hunt for was some sort of tray and in the end I came away with two as I just couldn’t choose between them! The first one that I came across was a pretty plain wooden tray which I plan to paint white to update it and make it look a little more minimalist (I can already imagine it making some pretty Instagram pictures). I then happened to stumble across another tray which I just couldn’t put down! It is much bigger than the first, made from metal and is painted cream and duck egg blue which is my absolute favourite colour at the moment! I just really love the shape and material of it teamed with the slightly distressed paintwork on the handles.

I’ve got a real obsession with homeware at the moment but my room is slowly becoming pretty cram-packed so I literally can’t wait to have my own place then I can decorate it from top to bottom!
